The 1903 SAFA Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between and the Football Club at the Adelaide Oval on 12 September 1903.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Australian Football - SANFL Season 1903 )〕 It was the 8th instalment of the Grand Final of the South Australian Football Association, staged to determine the premiers for the 1903 SAFA season. The match, attended by 14,000 spectators, was won by Port Adelaide by a margin of 7 points, marking the club's first premiership in its Wharf Pylon guernsey and the clubs fourth SAFA premiership victory overall. == Background == During the previous season Port Adelaide finished the minor round on the top of the SAFA league ladder. Port Adelaide disputed the use of umpire Mr Kneebone for the first final against South Adelaide as he was not credited at the beginning of the season and the club were suspicious of biased umpiring. Subsequently Port Adelaide abandoned the match. They later challenged the premier North Adelaide who beat South Adelaide in the final but the SAFA refused.
